Tamanu oil – The Nurse of the South Pacific – repairs and regenerates your skin
For centuries indigenous Melanesians and Polynesians have been aware of the regenerative and curative properties of Tamanu Oil. It is variously referred to as the “Sacred Oil of Tamanu,” “Green Gold” and the “Nurse of the South Pacific.” Indigenous people believed the Tamanu tree was a sacred gift of nature and that gods hid in its branches. It was their answer to skin protection from hot sun, high humidity and ocean wind. In the 1920s, Sister Marie-Suzanne, a nun stationed in Fiji, topically applied Tamanu oil to leprosy victims with positive results.
Can be be used to treat wide variety of skin conditions – burns, scrapes,wounds, insect bites, hives, eczemas and psoriasis – in fact just about any skin condition will respond well to Tamanu Oil.
It has cicratising or flesh regenerating properties. It has been shown to reduce the effects scars.
